And the Award Season has officially started! Yesterday Sandra Oh (from Killing Eve and Grey’s Anatomy) and Andy Samberg (from Brooklyn Nine-Nine) presented the award ceremony that gathered some of the most important names from both TV and Movies in 2018. Some of the well-deserved winners were Freddie Mercury Rami Malek, Bohemian Rhapsody and Shallow (ahh, now I need to listen to it!).
But a Hollywood Award Show is not complete without a red carpet. And, let’s be honest, this is actually the best part from any Hollywood event! This year the Golden Globe Red Carpet was filled with amazing gowns in vibrant hues and metallic fabrics.
One of the pleasant surprises from the night was Anne Hathaway and her leopard print Elie Saab dress. Is not common to see animal print on a Red Carpet, but Mia Thermopolis is not afraid to take a fashion risk. Janelle Monae also dared to be original with her Chanel outfit.
One of the biggest trends of the night was metallic fabrics. Gold, silver, sequins… the important was to shine. Rosamund Pike looked amazing with her silver bolero; her outfit is definitely one of the best ever worn to a Golden Globe! Saoirse Ronan went with a custom Gucci that feels very Old Gucci (aka Frida Gianini’s days), which was actually refreshing to see.
Lady Gaga did not win the award for best actress, but she should definitely win one for best dressed. The icon wore a huge Valentino gown that matched her hair!
New Year, new me! Well, at least for Julia Roberts. For the first time in years the actress wore something different to a red carpet. Also, Regina King showed how to wear rose gold (or would it be pink?) in 2019.
Just because you play a high school student, it doesn’t mean you need to dress like a high school student. Lili Reinhart wore one of her best looks ever for the Golden Globes. The Riverdale star chose a bright red Khyeli Couture dress that seemed made for a modern Disney Princess.
The fact that Lupita Nyong’o looked amazing is no surprised. The Black Panther actress loves bright colors, which always makes her pop from the crowd and look even more beautiful. This year she chose a stunning blue Calvin Klein dress that can easily compete with her 2014 look (and the Fiji water girl).
